Sprout House and Capital Campaign Update

What we had expected to take three years took us six months. Friends of Advocates and friends of friends, stepped up and gave overwhelmingly to the capital campaign, making Sprout House not just operational, but beautiful, functional…and safe.

Family and friends of Marianne Klancke donated close to $30,000 in her honor. The swing set built by the Fraser Valley Lions is another tribute to her, as well as Marianne’s garden – which by the end of the summer was in full bloom and a peaceful place for individuals to sit and enjoy.

The list of individuals who donated in-kind labor and materials is long indeed. Through their generosity, we saw shelves materialize, a shed built, fences mended, decking stained, bathrooms upgraded, doors hung, new paint on the walls, carpet installed or cleaned, furniture and household goods donated to the point of overflowing.

Sprout House has operated at capacity for the majority of the time it has been open, and we have successfully assisted several clients on to independent living, while continuing to support them through group and other resources.
Staff, Board, and Volunteers are thrilled to be part of this amazing group. As Executive Director, Deb Bittner, puts it – “I have the best job in the world because I can be part of making a difference every day.”
